Lapidary Club Membership Fees:
Annual Fees:
Family - $45.00
Single - $35.00

For the first time members who have had no prior lapidary shop experience, they require completion of the Basic Cabachon Introduction and Shop Orientation. This course is required for safety and proper equipment handling and for the Insurance requirements that are included in the club membership fee when one joins the Edmonton Tumblewood Lapidary Club. For the below courses costs are in addition to the club membership fee.

REQUIRED COURSE:
BCI.  BASIC CABACHON INTRODUCTION AND SHOP SAFETY ORIENTATION.
Learn how to use the lapidary saw, grinders, sanders and polishers to cut, sand and polish two basic cabochons, the oval and the round. Course fee includes all slabs, materials and shop fees.    $60  BCI. is four hours in the shop.

OPTIONAL COURSES:
 BRI-1. BASIC ROCK IDENTIFICATION
Learn about the typical rocks and minerals used in lapidary, and the assessment and testing that can help identify the rocks that will polish. $25  One hour in shop.

ACCI/ACC2. ADVANCED CABACHON CUTTING: ACC1, ACC2
Continued introduction to equipment operation in conjunction with producing advanced cabs in two courses: Rectangle cab and square cab in ACC 1. Heart in ACC2.
$60 for ACC1   $60 for ACC2 or $100 for both
ACC1: Four hours in shop       ACC2: Four hours in shop

REQUIRED COURSE: For using the big saw
BSSC. BIG SLAB SAW CUTTING
Learn how to operate the large slab saw. Learn about the safety requirements, how to properly clamp the material and what must be in place before the saw is started. Learn what to watch and listen for when operating the saw.
$20  Supply your own rock; Rock must be approved by shop foreman.
 One hour on the shop saw. (Choice of 18” or 24” saw).
Lockers at Shop Location
Lockers when available are $5.00 a month or $50.00 a year

The annual membership fees include the following:
  • Cost of affiliation in the Alberta Federation of Rock Clubs (AFRC) and the Gem & Mineral Federation of Canada (GMFC);
  •  Liability insurance for members on organized field trips or club events;
  • Subscription to our monthly newsletter - Tumblewood Tales.

ETLC Annual Membership is from January 1st to December 31st. During July and August there are no meetings. Existing members can download the membership form (Use Link to the Left), (this is a fillable pdf file) bring your membership fee and the form to the next meeting or shop. You can also pay your fee directly by e-transfer to  etlctreasurer@gmail.com   and your filled out form can be sent to the same email address. New members can download form and bring it to either a meeting night, shop night or use the same method mentioned above.
