What is a meteorite?
•A meteoroid from space that enters Earth’s atmosphere and lands on the surface intact and is recoverable
•Asteroid belt, Moon, Mars
•3 main types
•About 500 are estimated to reach the surface every year but only about 5 of these on average are recovered
•Study of meteorites is called Meteoritics
